BSNL EVDO in Bangalore has been there since 2008 and slowly, there are more than 40 towers with the BTS that have been setup in the time being, and high speed internet is available within a few kms range of each tower. BSNL EVDO device is easily available, but coverage is not same everywhere.

BSNL land line and broadband service is worst in K. R . Puram Area. I have lodged complaint for the telephone and broad band month back and it did not get resolved after so many visits to the exchange. And nobody is there to take up complaints. Even after contacting area manger problem still not solved. Can anybody suggest any other service providers are available in that area.

BSNL offers Data services on CDMA 2000 1X technology. A customer can avail these services by using BSNL NIC (Network Interface Card) with internet surfing speed upto 144 kbps or by using EVDO Cards with surfing speed upto 2.4 Mbps.
Now, BSNL is also offering roaming facility on these cards. The charges of unlimited internet usage through these NIC and EVDO Cards are as under :
2. The above tariff will be effective from 1 st July, 2009 for all new customers. For existing customers who have already taken the cards and are presently getting unlimited service @Rs.250 for NIC and Rs.550 for EVDO card, they have to migrate to higher plan after completion of 6 months period and due intimation has to be given to them as per TRAI directions on the subject.
3. All other terms and conditions will remain the same.
• Promotional Offer – BSNL has reduced the sale price of PCMCIA type of NIC and EVDO cards to Rs. 1680/- and Rs 2100/- respectively. Offer valid till stock lasts or upto 30-9-09 whichever is earlier.

i’m thinking of switching back to wired internet media as I see BSNL is becoming a monster in its own right, and babus up there see quick bucks from milching cows (remember adultrated milk – akin to service) rather than service as a necessity. 3G is launched and for those freaks to pay out 1700 bucks and 10 GB unutilised balance will lapse is lossy idea.it sucks.

they are adding EVDO devices to already peaked tower capacity – everybody are at pains with those www crawling at dialup speeds- should that add capacity rather than devices as promised on the launch time had it been a bit rosier- we want to follow socialistic way to give every-thing to everybody or making a loot and not hearing any complaints – civilised luls will go silent and the blogs will wear out thin – count how many sites are putting up BSNL EVDO.

by the way i’m from BSNL EVDO Rourkela, ODISHA, they have only ONE tower atop Durgapur range and it caters to more than 250+ EVDO and 100+ CDMA-1x devices. TRAI can u help me or others BSNL EVDO users here. Right now they are throttling the bandwidth and may be also the antenna positioning polarity which will dramatically alter the carrier reception from nearby range also. Alas any accountability…, their NAT router already blocks downloads from p2p, traffic shaping is the trade of the day.

Hi The BSNL network is very worst in Girinagar and sita circle,bangalore -85 & 50.
before reciving the call full signal will be there in the mobile once the call is recived the signal will come down to 1 or 2points,calls will automatically get dissconected,some times the call will not get dissconected the phone will hang and the currency will be debited from the account.
totally worst service in bangalore.
A lot needs to be improved.

Can anyone tell me if BSNL EVDO network is available in Minhaj Nagar, it comes in Banashankari 2nd stage, which is quite near to Padmanabha nagar and Kumaraswamy layout.
Also recent users of EVDO please let me know the speed of this service in the worst and best cases as per your experience.
